The Holiday Lights! Season presented by gridSMART from AEP Ohio will officially open in
Gahanna on Saturday, Nov. 12 and will run through Jan. 2, 2012.

Tuesday, November 1:

Flip the Switch Coloring Contest begins

The winners of the coloring contest will have the distinct honor of joining Gahanna Mayor Becky Stinchcomb, AEP's Louie the Lightning Bug, and your favorite holiday characters as you Flip the Switch to illuminate the Holiday Tree and Winter Wonderland at Creekside Park on Saturday, November 12!  Deadline is Wednesday, November 9.

Saturday, November 12:

Second Saturday
Tree Lighting, 6 p.m.

Illumination of the Holiday Tree and Winter Wonderland at Creekside Park, presented by gridSMART from AEP Ohio and the City of Gahanna Department of Parks & Recreation.  Thanks to the students from the Architecture, CAD and Manufacturing Technology classes at Gahanna Lincoln High School, an authentic grist mill with a working water wheel will be added to the Holiday Village in Creekside Park.  The Mayor will officiate and the winners of the Flip the Switch contest will assist  with the lighting ceremony.
 

Friday, November 25:

Olde Gahanna Community Partnership Festival of Trees silent auction, 4:30 - 7 p.m.

Healthy Holiday 5K, presented by by Mount Carmel, 5 p.m.
This 5K begins on Granville Street, near the new Clark Hall. Runners will follow a portion of the Holiday Lights parade route and try to work off all of those Thanksgiving day calories!  New this year, the Healthy Holiday Family Fun Run, a one mile race for those of us not quite ready for a 5K, but ready for a litte post Thanksgiving day exercise!

Holiday Lights! Parade, 6 p.m.
The flurry of activity is just beginning when the sun goes down, as Ohio's premiere evening parade begins and warms the crowd with lighted entrants, including both community designed and professionally constructed floats, the Gahanna Lincoln High School marching band, equestrian entries, Grand Marshal Sadicka White, and a host of dazzling surprises.

Saturday, December 3:

Visit with Santa at Benchmark Bank, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Visit with Santa at Ohio Herb Education Center, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
A holiday celebration wouldn't be complete without a visit with Santa.  Picture taking and wish making opportunities are available with the Jolly Old Elf himself!  An express North Pole mailbox will be available for letters to Santa, so send your wish list and keep working on that good behavior!

Saturday, December 10:

Second Saturday
Holiday Character Breakfast, presented by Telhio Credit Union, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Join us for the 5th annual breakfast and have fun with free arts and crafts activities, Santa's Secret Gift Shop, photo opportunities with your favorite holiday characters and light entertainment. Afterwards, enjoy delicious all-you-can-eat pancakes provided by Katie's Cakes. Tickets are $6 per person, children 3 and under are free.  Purchase your tickets here!
